Phal. Ambo Buddha 'Phoenix' FCC/CCE/AOS  (Brother Buddha x amboinensis) Sepals and petals deep yellow-orange with radial and concentric deep lavender red bars and spots, a green suffusion on reverse. This plant will grow keikis at its base quite freely and makes quite a specimen plant when well grown. The color of these flowers is stunning and the plants are blooming size! $100

Phal. An Tai Spot ‘Mary’ AM/AOS (Paifang’s Queen x John Ewing) Sepals and petals yellow-green with burgundy spots coalesced to cover almost entire surface, leaving a fine yellow-green margin; lip deep mulberry with creamy yellow side lobes flanking a clear white column; substance waxy; texture heavy crystalline. NS 6.6 cm. This cross has received an Award of Quality and all the awarded cultivars of this cross are robust growing plants that will keiki at their bases making great specimen plants. In addition, the flowers have a wonderful sweet fragrance and last a long time. This plant received the highest point score of the cross – 84 points - and had seventeen flowers and 10 buds on four inflorescences (two branched) when awarded. A fertile pod and pollen parent. Arizona Princess ‘Purple Gem’ HCC/AOS (Andalusia x Princess Kaiulani) Sepals and petals vibrant magenta with cream-colored base showing in ring around column at margins of sepals; lip bright magenta, callus and side lobes yellow; column light rose, anther cap white; substance rigid; texture crystalline.  Phal. bellina v. Murtoniana ‘Leprechaun’ AM/CBR/CCM/AOS

(Species) Note that we are not taxonomists and are relying on the taxonomic work previously performed and required to receive an AOS award. This is the rare murtoniana form of the species. This species is now classified as Phal. bellina, but was awarded as Phal. violacea. Dorsal sepal and petals greenish yellow, faint rose barring centrally; lateral sepals greenish yellow, flushed rose on inside one-half; lip fuchsia, side lobes golden; substance hard; texture waxy. (Princess Kaiulani x lueddemanniana) Sepals and petals ivory, overlaid dark magenta, with darker magenta concentric bars and ivory picotee; lip midlobe lighter magenta, side lobes yellow; column white; substance very firm; texture crystalline. NS 6.0. This is the second cultivar from this grex to receive a flower quality award. The only other award was to the cultivar ‘York’ in 1973 so as you can imagine, this is the best awarded cultivar to date! $175

Phal. I-Hsin Sunflower ‘M’ AM/AOS

(Taipei Gold x Brother Nugget) Dorsal sepal clean bright yellow, centrally over-laid light greenish yellow, base of dorsal sepal white with few orange spots; lateral sepals greenish yellow, white at base, with feworange marks; petals bright yellow, white at base, with few orange spots; lip white, yellow toward base, with orange flush; substance firm; texture matte. NS 7.5. Very close to a clear yellow with only a few faint spots. Should be tetraploid. Blooming size. $75

Phal. Kuntrarti Rarashati ‘Copperstate’ HCC/AOS (equestris x venosa) A very floriferous multifloral. Sepals and petals full, copper orange, spotted red-brown; lip pink, bordered white; column pink, haloed in rose; substance firm; texture matte. This is the only awarded cultivar of the grex to date and the flowers are fragrant. The plant tends to produce keikis from the old flower spikes. A charming multifloral. Blooming Size. $35.

Phal. Mary Lilian Taylor ‘Desert Orange’ AM/AOS

(venosa x Red Devil) Flowers orange rust; lateral sepals with rust purple over lower half; lip fuchsia, side lobes yellow with fuchsia apices; substance hard; texture matte. A floriferous plant with branching inflorescences and among the finest orange Phals. awarded to date. Mature plants are always either in bloom or in spike! The extremely long lasting flowers open red and fade to a non-fading orange. Mildly fragrant and blooming size. The plant is fertile as a pod parent and the first cross with it as a parent has produced two AMs.  $150

Another beautiful red multifloral from Dtps. Inferno. When awarded this plant carried 21 flowers and 30 buds on three branched spikes, so it will put on quite a show. $50

Phoenix Flame ‘Orange Glow’ AM/CCE/AOS (Summer Joy x Hausermann’s Goldcup) Flowers light mustard yellow with magenta spots coalesced to concentric circles apically, giving an orange cast overall; lip bright orange, bright magenta distally and on tips of side lobes; column white, light magenta at base; substance firm; texture satiny. At the time of award this plant bore thirty-six well-presented flowers and nine buds on seven branched inflorescences. It makes a great specimen plant and has some of the best orange flowers in the world today. Blooming size. $150
